Dr. Maureen Kinyua, PE,

Founder
Dr. Maureen Kinyua, P.E. is a seasoned environmental engineer and sustainability advisor with over 14 years of expertise in clean water, energy, and waste infrastructure. She specializes in low-carbon solutions, advanced resource management, and cutting-edge technologies that enhance environmental performance and reduce operational costs.
Dr. Kinyua has led groundbreaking projects in wastewater treatment upgrades, waste-to-energy solutions, and alternative technology assessments. Her expertise in PFAS fate, microbial risk, and carbon capture strategies has advanced industry knowledge, while her leadership in public health risk assessments during COVID-19 pandemic helped shape policy for vulnerable populations.
A recognized technical thought leader, Dr. Kinyua founded Usafi Technologies to provide strategic consulting, project management, and cross-sector collaboration to address complex environmental challenges. With a Ph.D. and multiple engineering credentials, she integrates science, technology, and community engagement to drive global sustainable development and lasting impact.
Maureen holds a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license from Maryland State Board of Engineers. She also has her Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV SP) credentials from the Institute of Sustainable Infrastructure.
